You tie my tongue up.

While I may have dived to the depths,

And scaled to the top,

You turn

This mind spotless.

And the rest of me

Into an obscure, inanimate office cactus

In the corner.

I should be better than this.

After all

I have wandered across

And met many.

But rather badly

I play stoic,

I play cool,

I play idiot.

Can you not hear the thuds that beat wild

And the veins that gush with flux?

To be this alive is vile and loud.

So go away,

While I desire

The myth of you.

For now,

I will take this much.

You tie my tongue up-

In more good ways than one.
