“The Closet” is a 5-minute performance piece on the lived experiences of queer and allied BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour). It explores the nuances of being in the closet and/or marginalized as a person of colour and in multiple BIPOC communities across Australia. The performers in this piece identify along the spectrum of  gender identity and many identify as LGBTIQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer+). This piece will be performed through dance, spoken-word and theatre. It is filmed as part of the People of Colour Storytelling Archive so as to represent and continuously make visible those stories that are untold, unheard and silenced.
