“I hope you will have a wonderful year, that you’ll dream dangerously and outrageously, that you’ll make something that didn’t exist before you made it, that you will be loved and that you will be liked, and that you will have people to love and to like in return. And, most importantly (because I think there should be more kindness and more wisdom in the world right now), that you will, when you need to be, be wise, and that you will always be kind.”

Secret notes@ Starbucks

Yes, it is people like me who make Starbucks a friggin oh-my-god-you-must-check-out place!! Sigghh!! So that was the New Year’s plan- to grab coffee in America’s export to the Indian soil.

So on New Year’s, I thought it was about time to visit my pal’s quaint clothing design store on the big road. Ai.ko, started by my pal, the brill clothing designer Aiko (yes yes, I am terribly creative and no, that’s not her name..), housed this little creation that I wanted to pick up forever now: an Art Deco Silk Georgette number…Woaa!! I was/am happy!!

So then, we headed to Starbucks and picked up the over-hyped coffee ( I still love my filter coffee!!)…And I must say, the interiors are simple lovely…I didn’t take pictures of it to show if off to you, which is rather unheard of for an architect/designer but whatever man…It had lovely wood and rattan furniture, warm ,lighting- excellent visual merchandising done with indian steel buckets painted with very desi motifs that one would find on a truck, steel trucks and old age suitcases…ooohhh…nice place… Did I mention free WIFI? yes, free WIFI!!

And then we are sitting there talking about our lives, directions we wanted to go…Somewhere in the midst of that..Talking papers and post-its…Emerged the idea to leave happy notes to mark the goodness that New Years would bring…

Cause we felt we wanted to do an ‘upside down‘ New Years  and thoughts just raced: Did we possess the power to make someone feel good? Don’t we all love surprises? How about a story? What would we want the universe to tell us?

So Aiko drew and I wrote…

Next question was where to leave them…So as amateur note-bombers, we didn’t want to be caught on our very first day (CCTV paranoia)…so we hid them a bit lousily… YES YES, so that people could really find them…

So damn it, it felt GOOD!! Bloody Fun!!

So here’s to note-finding and happiness-making!!
